Answers to the most common questions about Motionry, and how to reach us if yours is not here.

Getting started

Which iPhone and iOS do I need?

Motionry requires iOS 26. An Apple Watch is optional.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Heart rate can come from an Apple Watch or from a Bluetooth chest strap such as a Polar H10, because an iPhone has no heart rate sensor of its own. Without either, Motionry still records your route, speed and distance, but it has no heart rate zone to show.

How are my zones set?

Motionry uses five zones, set as a share of your max heart rate. It can estimate your max from your age with 220 minus age, or you can enter your own if you know it. The heart rate zone calculator shows your zones before you start.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. It is in the works, with Health Connect sync. Leave your email on the Android waitlist and you will get one message when it is on Google Play.

Heart rate and Apple Watch

How do I connect a chest strap?

Choose Chest strap as your heart rate source in Motionry. iOS asks for Bluetooth permission when you connect, and only then. Apple Watch works without it.

How do I start an activity from my Apple Watch?

Open Motionry on the watch and pick a sport. Each sport has its own first page, with elapsed time always visible, and the Digital Crown turns to heart rate zones and sport extras. Finish on the wrist and the activity is waiting on your iPhone.

Can I see my zone with the phone locked?

Yes. The Live Activity keeps your speed, heart rate and zone on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while you record. See how it works.

My heart rate looks wrong. What can I do?

Wrist sensors can lag or misread during hard intervals, and a loose watch can cause spikes. Wear the watch snug and check again. With a chest strap, moisten the electrodes and make sure the strap sits firmly. If it keeps happening, email us and tell us which device you use.

Motionry Pro and subscriptions

What is free?

Live heart rate zones, GPS recording, ride, run and walk, Apple Health and Apple Watch, the Lock Screen Live Activity, GPX and FIT export, and the shareable map image.

What does Pro cost, and what does it add?

Pro is €39.99 a year, which is €3.33 a month billed annually, with a 7-day free trial. It adds heart rate and elevation charts, the route map coloured by zone, and video and sticker shares.

How does the free trial work?

On the day you start, Pro unlocks right away. On day 5 we remind you before the trial ends. On day 7, €39.99 a year starts. If you cancel before then, you pay nothing.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Motionry. Apple manages the subscription, so cancelling there stops it from renewing.

Can I get a refund?

Payments and refunds are handled by Apple, not by Motionry. You can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Is anything sold on this website?

No. The trial and subscription are handled in the app through your App Store account.

Your data

The full details are in the privacy policy.

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone, and on your Apple Watch for workouts you start on the wrist. Motionry has no account and no server that holds your activities. Your iPhone's own backups may include the app's data.

What does Motionry read and write in Apple Health?

It reads heart rate, resting heart rate, steps, date of birth and weight, to set your zones and show recovery. It writes your rides, runs and walks as workouts with routes, heart rate and active energy. You can change this at any time under Health › Sharing › Apps › Motionry.

How do I delete an activity?

Delete it in the app. It moves to Recently deleted, where you can restore it or remove it for good. Workouts already saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.

Exporting and sharing

How do I export an activity?

Open the activity, choose to export it, and pick GPX or FIT. The full steps are on the GPX and FIT export page.

What can I share?

A map image is free. Motionry Pro adds 2D and 3D route videos and a transparent path sticker for your own photos, in light or dark, at 10, 15 or 30 seconds, sent through the iOS share sheet.
